Queensland sponsorship list changes announced

by Lauren 6/29/2009 3:34:00 PM

A number of changes have been made to
the Queensland sponsorship lists.

In the midst of many updates to the Australian immigration process, the new Queensland Sponsorship Lists were announced today. Many changes were made to both the Permanent Sponsorship List (which applies to applicants for the Skilled Sponsored visa (subclass 176, State) visa) and the Provisional Sponsorship List (which applies to applicants for the Skilled Regional Sponsored visa (subclass 475, State) visa), with many occupations being remvoed.

Note: While these new Queensland Sponsorship Lists are now in effect, Queensland will honour any applications from occupations using the old Sponsorship Lists until 7 July.

The new sponsorship lists can be found by going direct to the Queensland government site pages linked below:

Alternatively, see below for tables showing all the occupations that have been removed and added to both lists:

There also seems to be some additional criteria that will apply, specifically relating to English language requirements (where an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test may be necessary for some applicants) and also to the work history for applicants in some listed occupations (which would be a new sponsorship critera for visa applicants looking to emigrate to Queensland through the state sponsorship route).

We are investigating into these changes and well provide updates as and when we have them.

Hi Tony,
Regarding the 475 visa, where can i find the regional area (postcodes)of Queensland?
Is that mean I MUST work & live with the regional area for at least 2yrs.
How long it take for QLD govt to feedback on my nomination?
Thank you very much.

Kristy

7/1/2009 1:11:07 PM

On the 475 visa, you can live in any of the regional postcodes in any State or Territory. You must be careful that you check teh correct post-code list as there are slightly different postcodes for the lists relating to family sponsored 475 visas and State sponsored 475 visas. The full list of postcodes for both types of visas are at:

http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/specified-regional.htm

Queensland are taking around 10 to 12 weeks to process State sponsorships

Hi Tony,
Am I free to choose any occupation as long as I work within the regional areas for 1yr.

Kristy

7/2/2009 1:51:37 AM

Hi Tony,
I can see that Accountant still remain in 475 list,is there a difference applying before or after the 7July i mean in term of processing time by QLD. Do they need all the evidences copy to be certified? can send by fax and email? thank a lot.

Kristy

7/2/2009 9:52:21 AM

Hi Kristy

When on the provisional 475 visa, teh wor krequirement is for 1 year full-time equivalent work in ANY regional area of Australia - the occupation can be anything, it doesn ot have to be on SOL - it can be sweeping the streets, as long as you are paid for at least 35 hours per week - it can be two part-tim jobs that add up to 35 hours a week or more.

Hi Kristy

Initially Queensland told us they would accept faxed applications up to 7th July - today they have said they will not receive any more after today. No harm in trying a fax and then sending them the properly certified documents by post soon after. They may accept it.

Hi,

I have completed my commmunity welfare course in feb 2008. Can I apply for state sponsership in queensland (475 or 176).

singh

7/22/2009 2:55:14 PM

Hi Singh

Queensland are not offering any sponsorships for Community Welfare Workers at this moment in time. Assuming you studied in Queensland, a 487 may be difficult from anothe rstate and you may have to apply for a 475 from one of the othe rstates. All this woul need to be done within 6 months of your graduation. If yo ucan get a 475 sponsorship from another state, look at applyin gfor the 485 also so you can stay in Australia while it is being processed although you will have to leave for a week for the 475 to be granted.

Hi Kaur

Possible to apply for only the State or designated area family sponsored subclass 487 visa only. You need minumum of four sixes to apply for any other GSM visa including the 485 Graduate visa. I hope you already have your skills assessment sorted as IELTS goes up for that soon.

More and more States are requiring IELTS 7 before they will sponsor you for 886 visa so you need to check the requirements of the State you are considering.

Hi Tony, I would like you to please clarify some questions for me.
I'm a New Zealand citizen currently in Australia. I've applied for State Nomination and I believe I will get it. I want to wait until I get my SSN approval before logding my application for 176.
Do I still need to have my qualifications independently accessed by VETASSESS?
I'm currently looking for jobs that is unrelated to the SSN job list, will this affect my DAIC application or should I just remain unemployed for now?

Do I need to leave the country before I can submit my 176 application? Likewise do I need to leave to collect my visa once it has been approved?

Regards,

Bernard

Hi Tony,

I have just finished a two-year Masters degree in Teaching in Queensland which qualifies me to teach in both primary and secondary schools, but Maths or Science are not my subjects. I do not have the 120 points needed for Permanent Residency as yet. The other option is to apply for a Graduate (Temporary) Visa. However, someone was telling me recently that the QLD Government helps in the migration process by sponsoring the teacher in a regional area under a two-year teaching contract. Is that true? If it is, who should I contact in Education Queensland?

It is great that many people choose to get there visa and come to this great country the right way. The success rate of those who go through the approval process and do everything the right way is much higher and rightfully so. It shows the character and effort needed to have a prosperous life here in America. Those who try and cut corners will end up hurting themselves in the long run.

It can cut down your offline commercializing costs too if you get it cooked properly. Observing somebody who not only does SEO but does the content initiation and distribution for you as well as keyword research, updating content on your internet site and blog, having professionaly published releases at reduced costs as referred previous is what suits many small business possessors and yet there are numerous who attempt to do it themselves, they get lost as they dont have the cognition or the technical sciences to do it speedily and they abandon. Great post! I?m just starting out in community management/marketing media and trying to learn how to do it well - resources like this article are incredibly helpful. As our company is based in the US, it?s all a bit new to us. The example above is something that I worry about as well, how to show your own genuine enthusiasm and share the fact that your product is useful in that case

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like 'Mixview' that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you're listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of "neighbors" will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune "Social" is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

Hands down, Apple's app store wins by a mile. It's a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I'm not sure I'd want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod's. It works well, but isn't as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that's not an issue, but if you're planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod's larger screen and better browser may be important.

Very well written, thanks for the great post. I think I'll be coming back here more often :)I teach AP Biology, and lately most of the reports I've read are from AP Biology students who don't write this well.<a href="http://www.course-notes.org">Ap Biology</a>

Thanks for the fantastic post, I'm sure I'm not the only one of your readers that enjoy the well written material. Have a great day. I'm a professor of AP Courses, from Pennsylvania, and I am more inclined to think students of ap courses can use some help in writing like this. The only thing AP courses lacks is a more advanced writing section.<a href="http://www.course-notes.org">Ap courses</a>
